"Lovely's Secret Admirer" Season 3 Ep 19 (Those crazy fuckers were doing 30 episode seasons!) First aired Jan 23 1967 - so at a guess it was in production 4th quarter of 1966
"Catspaw" Season 2 Episode 7 First aired on 10-27-1967, so Gilligans Island used the robe first.
I am so, so tired tonight.

Half hour Episodes however. And not much in terms of special effects.jayphailey wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 4:28 am"Lovely's Secret Admirer" Season 3 Ep 19 (Those crazy fuckers were doing 30 episode seasons!) First aired Jan 23 1967 - so at a guess it was in production 4th quarter of 1966

It tickles that Gilligan used it first.

I like how the designers used whatever and anything they could find to make it work.

Things like one off costumes that are fairly standard, like wizard robes are typically rented from massive prop warehouses cheaper than they could be made. All the Nazi stuff in Patterns of Force for example. Fineberg did not make it, he rented it. Gilligan rented it first, it went home and Trek got it later.jayphailey wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 6:08 amI like how the designers used whatever and anything they could find to make it work.
It would be interesting to find out where and for what the robes were first made. These places haunt end of production sales.
