I'm stuck currently

None of the stories I'd planned out moving forward really feel all that urgent.

I've written this and that and it's just not working.

I could feel the previous material. It felt like getting to the punchline of a good joke. It felt satisfying to tell.

But right now, not much else feels that good. I am struggling to put down anything that feels right.

Example -

I wrote some of an Omoikane Pass through the Rishan Zone. It just didn't work. I even replaced the "Emotional Storm" with "Someone else's Twilight Zone Episode"

and it's NOT working out.


I garbled something that involved a local power being assholes

Then I skipped forward to when the Omoikane got to Oron on her trip back to New Canada

I'd always planned for them to meet a Shard mission there.

The Shard: "This is ours now. It's our ancestral home world. Fuck off."

Federation: "Not only do we have Orion folks as members of the Federation, but we're here on behalf of the Darnarans and the Lefyt who have just as much claim as you do."

Shard: "We have decided their claims don't matter."

And the story stops there. And dies.

H3 suggests they agree to share the place like civilized neighbors, and the Shard mission agrees because they know they have extended too far and cannot hold the place militarily. Everybody knows this is a cease fire until the Shard feels like they can take Oron by force. H3 hopes it takes long enough to figure out something better.

That's not a story. It just laid there.

I had a dream, where an ancient god of the Oron awakens from his slumber and then... does what?

No story there.

I wanted to have the California and the Fannie Fern Phillips-Andrews visit planets from TOS Episodes on their way back to Earth.

Stuck, those died.

I aim to have the TFT6 folks grilled by Starfleet "You think you can just waltz in here and call yourself Starfleet?"

(They'll eventually meet at yes)

But the idea of skipping ahead to that... Also dead.

I wanted to have T'ari and her crew continue to visit places in the Fulcrum Region. This is me saying "See, Garry? it looks like this!"

But it's dying.

I have one idea I want to inflict on the Yang Waping.

But I am afraid to approach it right now.

I wanted to have the Omoikane swing through the area around New Canada so I could say "See, Garry? It looks like this!"

But...

Maybe Sophie getting sick has killed that drive.

I am stuck, and I don't like it.

Church of the Holy Sepulchral An Islamic family has the keys and has for centuries. Oron needs to be in the hands of a neutral non-orion people so that all orion people are welcome there. Let the Ane hold it. They have no interest in the place.

I have run off the edge of the prepared map.

Most of the material up to "The Zob Problem" contains stuff I have been noodling about for a long time.

Except for the Space Crab. That just struck me. But the Tabooists, The Anrandites and the Generic Orion Space Scum are all old furniture for me.

I have to noodle a bout where I am at and do some world building and back story work.

I just wrote a noodle about the destruction of Oron, and the 9 subsidiary gems of the empire. That'll tell me more about what character see when they go there.

I need to do that with the other pieces I wanted to describe.

Get a more clear backdrop in my mind that you'll see only the edges of.
