Poetry - I have no idea where to post these, so enjoy

Lift

A wing slices
The air
What holds it up?
P+1/2(rho)V^2 = constant
Magic?
Love.

----

The Encounter

Crystal infinities intertwine
Fractal faces welcome her
worlds written on molecules
Billions of voices
Improvising
In harmony

A galaxy in a few pounds of crystal
A field stretches onward,
each blade of grass - a mind
Ancient and wise
Singing, Sequestered.

----

Between two fires
Choose ash or embers.
You dont get to know.
You guess - invent.
Its called life.
An excercise in improvization - with fire.

----

Close, but not the same.
Sometimes wonder,
Sometimes fear
What the hell is that?!
Context fails
No pattern fits
Strange new world
Now my mind is expanded
Will I be the Alien
At home?

----

Equality
Justice
No one excluded
No dissonance
No conflict
Our beach parties
Totally rock.
We're all so pretty
...
Why are you screaming?

Yesterdays fortune cookies
what cool metaphors!
i could write a poem
about how ephemeral
our hopes, plans and expectations are.
a fortune cookie
sweet and so temporary
it could be a metaphor for life
and yesterday's fortune cookie -
memories.
or i could just eat the damned thing.
asking a lot of an old cookie, anyway.

----

Strange place
strange smells
but good ones
-
new food, music, conversations, people
smile and keep my mouth shut
i might learn something
-
a new place makes
a new me.
i love this stuff

Alien

It looks at me with faceted eyes
All my dreams, hopes, aspirations.
Nothing personal - Food.

----

Night Shade

Raven hair,
Skin of Blue
Lavender eye
Steel gleams
What could make
her so angry?
Her red cyber eye
glows not with
technology
but with emotion
Could I pierce her
hard shell of anger
and self protection?
Or will I be
Yet another body
In her wake?

Collinwood

The protrait over the
mantlepiece.
A relic of
Ancient times
Eyes that have seen
The Abyss
"I know," He says
Irony like it's own planet
"An amazing coincidence
"isn't it?"

Years ago it was a news item when a Computer wrote a story, basically picking worlds in regards to a grammar table.. Omni Magazine made a big deal out of it.

These days I see much the same thing happening in front of Spam. Spam Bots are randomly stringing words together. It seems to use a similar sort of program designed to defeat spam filters.

I got one - it read in plain text so all I could see was the randomized text, and not the spam. And I wondered what it was. Soon I realized it was the EW trying to jam a SPAM filter.

But it made me think - What could you with this? It doesn't take much to edit the random text into... something...

----

I marched with the men, with swords and fire-locks, and some of was cured
for life of any temptations to take part in it again.

A plain honest soldier and a plain Highland gentleman;

what they would be made most extraordinary difficult by a plain black frost
that fell

either hand of a canal;

the servant lassies were out slestering

(I can't find a definition for "Slestering")

and left us to our own concerns,

the little backwardness that became her well

was of one that regarded herself more the ROSE

She had got her anchor and was off again before we had approached

The perils into which she must have fallen, had ruffled me

She had taken it pretty well; and only because it had been written down,

I would be ashamed to set down what I paid for stockings for her.

Scattering thoughts I was brought suddenly face to face with her.

What else would I be thinking all this time?

Says she "Save Mrs. Gebbie!"

some of us in cloaks, others mantled in the ships we left to save the
woman.

We got a drink of milk from a country wife but new come to the town

I will go ashore with the young lady, the Captain Sang,

Said I. It is my duty by you, girl. Here am I going alone to this strange
city,

To meet folk who are not yet used with the duplicity of life

and men with doors and windows thronged with wauf-like painted women;

these jostled sister in the case.

I could see my Dutchman was extremely suspicious.

He was reluctant to let himself be launched on the continent of Europe with
an empty amount of big speech and preparation, to accomplish nothing.

There was no minute lost, and scarce time given for any to interfere

From the boat the business appeared yet more precarious than from the the
showing of that letter,

-----

I have to wonder where they sailed and did they save Mrs Gebbie?

Did I return to my adventurous but slightly backward servant Lass who bid me
to save Mrs Gebbie?

And what part did the eager Captain and the Suspicious Dutchman play?

New content! Major OCD work on the profiles section - including the Jay-Trek time line.

I put the profiles in randomly. Have fun wandering through them at random. If someone would like me to organize them in some specific way, I am open to suggestions.

This represented three weeks of work, about 3 megs of space and years and years of being randomly, fittfully creative.

There's also occasional pretty pictures.

Check it out in the Profiles section

New Content!! I have updated the characters Page into the "Profiles" Page. People, Places and things, mostly from ST-OM. There will be more added to this as we go. I hope you enjoy these little glimpses into my mind and the imaginary world of ST-OM

11-07-2006

New Content! I have Updated the ST-OM pages, and the the Bendross pages. Most of the pieces are short ones. I hope you find it worth the wait. This is a quick and dirty update - now I need to go and regularize the format of the ST-OM stories (Many of the ST-OM Stories now have innacurate episode numbers.) - the next update project is to post profiles. Boy I have a LOT of profiles. But before then I have a mundane project that needs worked on.

Among the stories I posted is my first ever fanfic - "A Short Visit" Starring Irving Fineburg. I wrote it in 1984. I posted it just because it doesn't do any good on my hard drive does it?

Please enjoy and don't be shy about feed back! It's nice to know you're out there reading!

Update progress - This update is turning into a worse bear than I thought. I am still working on it. May take a while. A new fic is progressing nicely, although it's turning out to be longer than I thought. Maybe thinking isn't my best thing... :) :)

My work schedule is in flux now. Turns out that if you do a good job, they want you to do more of it. I was afraid of that. But it's a new one on me...

I am working on a large update to this site. 28 pieces of fiction adding to the ST-OM side. I briefly considered some sort of mailing list to appraise readers of an update. But I already have one. It's called Trekcreative.

My work schedule has me working 11-3, 11-4, and 11-5, 2006 so serious work on the updatey-ness has to wait until after that... Unless I can contrive to take my computer to work... Probably not. Hopefully I'll be able to post something here by 11-9-2006. If not I will say so on TCR and on my blog.

I also find myself having a blast on the STPMA forum. It's definitely worth a look.

8-8-2005

I have been adding stuff to my blog. I am thinking of adding a "Profiles" page in place of the characters page - this would be for posting background information about the game world of Jay-Trek where ST-OM takes place. I am not sure that's exactly what we're thinking of when we think of "new Content."

Apparently I did every part of updating my webpage except actually uploading the new page - Dur. This is fixed now as is the link below to my blog. Please enjoy

And don't be shy about E-Mailing me. I love to hear from you.

I have a blog now - Which means I won't be noodling in this space as much - that what a Blog is for

Jay' Blog

It was 37 years ago today that Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon.

Also today - James Doohan died

No new content - I'd say I am working on it - but that's not necessarily true - I am working on working on it - that much is true

Check the Blog - I hope to make regular updates there.

*****I seem to have passed my Basic Electrical/Electronics Systems at SCC. Monday the 4th I scream into Power trains, learning about transmissions, brakes, axles and frames.

*****James C Jones II has applied his considerable energy and drive to his website, his fics and banners, with catchy results

*****Check it out. Cool stuff, Maynard!

*****With the encouragement of James and my friends at Trekcreative, as well as Banners made up by James, I'll be submitting banners to various exchanges and putting them here as well. Into the final stretch of basic electrical and electronics at SCC. Not much new to report right now. Not much new writing happening. But I recently barely survived a Zombie attack ...

You made it. Barely.
Congratulations! You scored 53!
Whether it was the fact that you could run faster, or were just plain lucky, you made it out alive. Even you aren't sure why. But you're sure as hell not going back, or risking your ass for anyone else from now on.

Have been uploaded. ENJOY! And please remember what drives any Fanfic writer... FEEDBACK

Thank you for reading ST-OM... I really appreciate that

As for what's new With Jay? I blew my student aid paper work and so I don't return to SCC's HEQ program until January. I had a nice job out at Itronix for about Six weeks, but it was a temp assignment and, as all such things do it faded away.

24, January, 2004

Okay, I know, I take too long to update this site. Mea Culpa. Guilty.

It has been an eventful 10 months or so.

The biggest news - Sandi and I got married.

This has been a very, very good thing.

The second thing is that after a little more than a year, Garry Stahl asked me to seek my own webspace, to make room for more of his own content. I was happily able to upgrade my old website to a full pay site, so we're back at http://jayphailey.8m.com but without the pop-up adds and other evils.

Like I said previously, Garry Stahl is a true gentleman and a true friend. my thanks go out to him, and then stay there.

As far as content goes - well that has been a very slow year indeed. ST-OM 51 proceeds in fits and starts. It'll be finished when it's finished, and that's all I can say.

This August an old friend of mine moved in for a short emergency, and this lasted into Christmas. It was fun having another fan in the house, and another girl. But the added people destroyed my writing groove and I am having to redevelop it from scratch.

I saw BSG 2003. I liked it. I liked the new Starbuck. I still think they'd have been better off starting a whole new show, but it wasn't bad. I believe this will go to series, And I will watch it.

I saw "Return of the King" the finale to the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I am guestimating something like 12 hours of film when you line up all three special editions back to back. I am totally there. I think these are some of the best films ever made.

I am actually just now getting into the books. At this writing I have finished The Hobbit and am Halfway through Fellowship of the Ring. To tell the truth, while I love tolkien's writing voice - it sounds like a pleaasant uncle telling a long, rambling story- So far, I like the movies better. The flow is more smooth.

Of course comparing movies to novels isn't an especially exact thing.

That's it for this update.

I find my linx page is out of date again (For instance, Microsoft has placed its knowledge base out of reach of the web.) So I'll have to update it again.

I have too many links there anyway. The more links you have, the easier it will be for the page to slide out of date.

More soon. At least, Sooner than last time... :)

30, March, 2003

Which First? Political Commentary, or Content? We know what you come here for. many of us actually rise to the level of average intelligence here at the offices of KJAY.

For this up date I have revamped the "Characters" pages, and added two new write ups and a new introduction, which has all the raw Kitty Sheets for you to copy and use.

But the Coolest thing that has happened to ST-OM and this site since Garry Stahl sublet us Space at the Pheonix Inn again has been Michael Gray - http://darkhorizon.4mg.com/

This is one of the images he created of Captain Hailey -

Hailey at an Unamed Watering Hole.

Are there too cool? Bendross 39 has been released to Critical Raves. In that it left them raving "What the hell were you *Smoking*!?" So there's some editing to be done there before it sees posting here. I can hear you asking "You edit Bendross?! My prehensile Lemurite *ass* you edit those!"

Well, no, actually I don't much. But when people are shooting holes in them at first glance, I can polish a touch, okay?

Alright, next the War. I know an Air Force guy who is over there somewhere. I think he deployed to Saudi this last December, but now who knows where the hell he is? I have his e-mail and I do my best to let him know we back here support our Children, Siblings, Friends and Loved Ones out in the Desert.

But I am four square against this war. My friend, the Air Force Guy would be much better off if he were standing right here in Spokane.

besides my favorite TLE there is now

The Rational Review

Read the articles, essays and links on those and you'll have it better than I can put it down here.

Just MHO The United States Federal Government *is not entitled* to an opinion on anything happening outside of U.S. borders. And damned little inside these borders. Some think less than others.

I fear finding politicians willing to Enforce the U.S. Constitution and the U.S. Bill of Rights totally, completely and unreservedly may entail great and chaotic changes in our country

I fear another Bastille Day is out there somewhere with our name on it.

Until then I pray: God bless our people in the Middle East. I pray they all return home quickly and in safety. I believe that God has brought the ones we've lost already home to him.

And I pray for each of us here at home. Peace and Sanity to all of us.

Title: "War"
Written By: "Norman Whitfield & Barrett Strong"
Performed By: "Edwin Starr"

War. huh! Yeah!
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothin'! Uh huh uh hu-uh.

War. huh! Yeah!
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothin'! Say it again y'all.

War. huh! Look out!
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothin'! Listen to me.

Ahhh war.
I despise, cause it means destruction of innocent life.
War means tears to thousands of mothers' eyes,
when their sons go off to fight and lose their lives.

I said, war. huh! Good God y'all.
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothin'! Say it again.

War. huh! Whoa whoa whoa Lord.
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothin'! Listen to me.

War.
It ain't nothin' but a heart breaker.
War.
Friend only, to the undertaker.

Ahhh war.
is an enemy to all mankind.
The thought of war blows my mind.
War has caused unrest within the younger generation.
Induction, then destruction. Who wants to die?

Ahhh war. huh! Good God y'all.
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothin'! Say it, say it, say it.

War. huh! Uh huh yeah, huh!
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothin'! Listen to me.

War.
It ain't nothin' but a heart breaker.
War.
Its got one friend, that's the undertaker.

Ahhh war.
has shattered, many a young man's dreams.
Made him disabled, bitter and mean.
Life is but too short and precious,
it's been fighting wars each day.
War can't give life, it can only take it away.

Ahhh war. huh! Good God y'all.
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothin'! Say it again.

War. huh! Whoa whoa whoa Lord.
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothin'! Listen to me.

War.
It ain't nothin' but a heart breaker.
War.
Friend only, to the undertaker.

wooo

Peace, love and understanding, tell me
Is there no place for them today?
They say we must fight, to keep our freedom,
but Lord knows there's got to be a better way.

Ahhh war. huh! Good God y'all.
What is it good for?
You tell 'em. nothin'! Say it, say it, say it, say it.

War. huh! Good God now, huh!
What is it good for?
Stand up and shout it. nothin'!

What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?

Written by Nick Lowe
Performed by Elvis Costello and the Attractions

As I walk through this wicked world,
Searching for light in the darkness of insanity.
I ask myself, "is all hope lost?
Is there only pain and hatred and misery?"
And, each time I feel like this inside,
There's one thing I want to know.
What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?
Oh, what's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?

And, as I walk on through troubled times,
My spirit gets so downhearted sometimes.
So, where are the strong?
And, who are the trusted?
And, where is that harmony? (Sweet harmony)
'Cause each time I feel it slipping away,
Just makes me want to cry
What's so funny bout peace, love and understanding?
Oh, what's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?

08, February, 2003

Well, it's been a while since my last update here abouts. Sorry for the delay. I have new Bendross Up to Episode 38 ready to go.

I have been banging away grimly on ST-OM 51 and it's coming along, but we're a long way from th end zone on that one, yet. ST-OM 52 changes as we go but that's all good, as long as it's complete story when I am done.

I haven't done any work on Vista City for a while. But that's okay. We're still in motion around here and that's good.

Mean While, real life is what's happening down here. I am working hard and Sandra is now in her final year of an Electronics Technician Degree from Spokane Community College. Once she's done with this I plan to go back to school, although my goal and aim is not terribly clear yet. Right now I am thinking network administrator or Electronic technician- Avionics. One way or another early 2004 looks like the time I'll be heading back to school. And who knows. Maybe getting some more writing in as I go.

Now about the Space Shuttle - On 02, Feb, I was broken out of my weekend writing binge by Barbara terlling me to turn the TV on, the Columbia was down. I yelled and curse and thought "Dear God, Not Again!" but I turned on "Crisis News Network" and watched.

I stole my noodle below from the Encyclopedia Astronautica -

http://www.astronautix.com/index.html

It's just too cool a website. All the Space facts you could want.

A Nice argument against NASA, the space shuttle and any Sucessor can be found here -

http://www.space-access.org/updates/sau99.html

And if you want a very long, detailed and enraging argument against NASA, go read

G. Harry Stine's "Halfway to Anywhere"

The fact of the matter is that the Columbia disaster was only a matter of time. We're all pretty sure as of this writing that a failure in the heat shield tiles on the left wing allowed it to burn up on re-entry. This cause the wing to fail, and the shuttle broke up.

The Space Shuttle is a collection of political goals and compromises, with a space craft wrapped around them. The wonder is not that we lost one in 2003. The wonder is that we didn't loose one in 2001 and 2002.

I am a fan of Space and the manned space program as well as science fiction. Actually I have been a fan of real space longer. On 20, July 1969 My Mom woke we me up and although I didn't understand it much, I watched with the world as Apollo 11 landed on the moon.

Let's recall that in January of 1967 (I was 7 weeks, 6 days old) Grissom, Chaffee and White were killed in the Apollo 1 fire.

Ed White, Gus Grissom, Roger Chaffee

These were the first of them, and they deserve to be remembered, too. They would have been the first to fly a manned Apollo spacecraft, except it killed them before they could lift off.

By 1979 and 1980 I was reading all the books on space travel and reading all the magazines about I could find. And I was reading all the promises of the Space Shuttle. Routine space flight, cheap access to space a new space age. Space sations, LEO to Luna space tugs. All of it.

In march of 1982, I watched the Space Shuttle Columbia land at Edwards Airforce Base, CA. The shuttle filled us all with pride and joy. The shuttle have really become nationa symbols, and national metaphors.

But I was always disappointed that the missions were so few and far bewteen them. I didn't realize at the time how hideously expensive they were.

I recall exactly where I was on 28, January 1986. I was at my Dad's Apartment in Long beach when I got the call. The Space Shuttle Challenger had blown up

Back Row: Ellison Onizuka, Christa McCauliffe, Greg Jarvis, Judith Resnik

Front Row: Michael Smith, Francis Scobee, Ron McNair

The loss of the Shuttle Challenger was a Disaster "Go Fever" and pressure to launch no matter caused several safety concerns to be overlooked.

Seventeen years Later - The Columbia -

I am sure you've sen the pictures and heard about about them now. But n a few years who will remember?

Back Row: David Brown, Laurel Clark, Michael Anderson, Ilon Ramon

Front Row: Rick Husband, Kalpana Chawla, William McCool

I happen to think Willy McCool is just too cool a name, although I bet Lt. Commander McCool hated it.

" It is not the death of these people whom we have never met that we mourn. It is the death of the best part of ourselves that hurts so much." - Rich Tucholka

That's who these people were.

NASA killed them by thowing them into huge boondoggle money pit that it can't let go of, and won't let anyone else play with anything else.

I took it off my Sig, because I was afraid it was insensitive to the astronauts themselves. And who knows, they may have earnestly disagreed with me.

But I feel it Strong None The less

NASA Delenda Est

oo, and here anopther good article about it Here

Oh, and while we're on the subject, you might as well go to Jerry Pournelle's Website and get it straight from the Horse's Mouth.

13, July, 2002

The big news is, of course, that, due to Server hi-jinks, the URL for this website is now www.temporalspace.net but you know that if you're readfing this. Again many thanks to James C. Jones II for hosting this fine and pop-up free website!

Two new things - The Art of Richard Spake is up at www.spake.iwarp.com and Ken's Four Corners stories are up at www.fourcorners.iwarp.com Both of these sites are at the free "Freeservers.com" web hosting service so beware massive pop ups. I have in the back of my mind to eventually put an ST-OM site up there someday, but that has low priority.

Well, this page has undergone Updates since I last added to this, but not this spot. How remiss of me. What's happening? Well - I am hard at work st ST-OM 51, it's turning into a monster. A previously planned Vista City/Four Corners crossover has not panned out, so we'll bump that and proceed to the next project. Bendross has been happening. New episodes have been added up to Episode 31. If you read the Bendross stories drop me a line please. I really don't know who if anyone is reading this effort.

Recently I passed a year on my current Job, as a Humanix Temp working for the county of Spokane, in the Public Work Dept. an event that shocks and surprises me, but pleasantly. This has added some needed stability into our lives.

Thank you for your attention, now go read some stories and have some fun.

22 February, 2002

After a good, long slog I have gotten hold of Kenneth Strickland's Four Corners Stories. They are Posted under the link to your left near the bottom - "Ken's Stories" they are now under the top link in the "Other stories" link, too. Most of the Slog was getting the stories and then getting them converted from their original Amiga format. The actual final edit and formatting was done by Kenneth with mild alterations from me. I this set currently stands as Kenneth's best work so far. That doesn't mean we won't wait for his next set.

E-Mail Kenneth and provide him the feed back all us creative types like - Kalstrick@juno.com

We have moved away from Lee Street in Spokane to Dean Avenue, for reasons that would bore you. Although there is a Mail forward on the old address I don't know how long it will last.

The new Address for me is -

Jay P. Hailey

W 2709 Dean Ave.

Spokane WA

99201-1522

The old address is at the bottom of ALL my stories. This is a bad thing. It means I'll have to hand alter somewhere near 100 different HTML files. Although the new Four Corners stories under Ken's links have my true address on them.

I believe that, come the next big edit, I'll take off the Address and update it on this page and my Biography page exclusively. It's a hold over from the text file distribution, that never really happened anyway.

January 13, 2002. Happy New Year! I have added some functions to the Navbar, specifically a hit counter and the link above. It's political statement, surely. If such annoys you, then please feel free to simply move into the rest of the content here. This link only appears once. I have also resize the picture of my family, Sandi, Kat and Barbara so they Load in less than a million years. I also updated the link on the Links Webpage to Windrivers.com. They went pay-for-play which is a serious blow to finding your drivers. On the other hand if you know what devices you have in you computer, then use Google to search for the support pages the manufacturer puts up. 99% of the time they'll be there.

Be aware. You can find specific file names, even specific files from the windows operating system on line for download out there. Most of them in Rumania. Eastern Europe is the new Wild West for the Internet, so hacks, cracks, warez and necessary files may be found out there. However , I have found about 50% of the files I have personally grabbed from that area of the world are infected with Viruses, so make sure your AV programs and firewalls are good before venturing into that particular bad neighborhood.

I recommend this article by David Brin about Star Wars Versus Star Trek

And the follow up on his website -

They are pretty cool, and summarize my feelings well on the subject.

Nov 23 2001 Added the characters page and three character sheets. Hopefully they will work properly. Also added Bendross Episodes 26 and 27. Thanksgiving holiday this year was a gooder, I hope you all had fun with it, too. The next ST-OM Story, concerning Li'ira and the crew of the USS ShiKahr is working, as well as an Engage Story featuring Ensign T'Nara and Gang out at Deep Space Thirteen. I hope I can have some good stuff to show you here before too long.

Oct 27 2001. Another update. not a complete one. I have discovered that Microsoft Office XP has an UTTERLY different set of ideas about how to format a Webpage than I do. If I ever get to the point of compromise with it, you may see that. The main addition today has been to update the links page and correct the E-Mail address! JUNO.COM has jammed up my e-mail account. To make things even happier, the tech support call to fix it is a 1-900 number, which is charging service. So I have all but abandoned my JUNO.COM Account for the time being. They suck. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid.

I will continue to update this site. I am getting the characters page together and hope to have more completed stories soon. When that might be, I could not say. Hopefully it won't be as long as this last batch.

Feb 14. The official Launch of this page. I have changed the format of the story presentations. I tried to make the font neutral so your browser picks the one you like. I don't believe I was 100% successful but they should by and large be more readable. I took the Tables off that I was using to force the margins. Because of the new frame arrangement, the frames will be of variable width, depending on the resolution of your monitor. A 640X480 monitor will have a more narrow area of Display, while a monitor set to 1024 X 768 resolution will have a lot more space. Unfortunately I couldn't discover a quick way to force the margins which would flex with different resolutions.

So I took off the tables. I also took off the link to the Zipped *.RTF files. I didn't know if anyone was using them and each link in each story adds to the over all complexity of the over all site. This leads to more opportunities for problems and malfunctions.

If you'd like to have a zipped *.RTF file of any given story or any number of them, then please don't hesitate to ask and I'll send them to you personally.

Checking the links on my links page I discovered that many of the links open the main frame I set up. I have a vague notion about how to set up the link so this doesn't happen but no experiment so far has been successful. The easy work around currently is to click with the right hand mouse button and then hit the "Open in a new window" command.

I heartily recommend checking out Jungle Kitty's page. She just posted a new Trek Fic that's a homage to Chuck Jones. It's a hoot. I also recommend James Winter's site. Not only are his stories first rate, but he's also down with who's who on ASC. From his site there's an entire universe of Trek fics open before you.

As always, if you see any problems, broken links or have any issues with my presentation please hit the "Email Jay" link to your left, and let me hear about it . Have fun!

Feb 10 - I have discovered the arcane art of Frames. This will Make that Navbar thingee you see to the left hand side of this page much nicer and easier to use.

This page now becomes the "What's New Page" It will load first and I'll tell you about updates, newly posted stories and updates in the on going soap opera of Jay's life (It's Another *^&%&^$ World, ALRIGHT?)

I am personally very excited about this new format. It's what I had in mind all along but couldn't make my simple skills and tools DO. I have high hopes that this will make all my stories and material easier to get to and read. If you have any comments or suggestions, please, as always, Pass them along.

08 - February - 2001

Uploaded two new Bendross Episodes #23 and #24, as well as updating the Links, What's New and Jay Bio Pages.

BTW be sure to go and visit James C. Jones II web published novel Praxis

Lots of good Action and intrigue in there. James was part of the Role Playing Campaign that spawned some of my characters in the Vista City Games. Karen Bechard and Steve Ashby actually worked at the same Detective Agency briefly. They never ran into each other that I recall.

I have been trying to interest James in a cross over effort. We'll see what he has to say. Till then, read Praxis, and contact James C. Jones II to let him know what you think of it.

04-February-2001

Wowzers. It's been forever since I have done a serious update to my web page.

Official crawling for forgiveness notice. James C. Jones, one of my oldest and dearest friends noticed that I had forgotten his name on my Bio Sheet. Duuuhhhh. Not only is James the guy who gave me my first technical lessons about computers, but he's been a constant source of support and encouragement ever since I met him, nigh unto 20 years ago now (Actually 17 at this point, but 20 sounds more impressive). We are veterans of the late and occasionally even Lamented USS Shadowstar Trek Fan club. James Dreams big, and you're going to have to hustle to keep up with *him*.

I have been gathering notes and information about broken links and page updates. However in October 2000 I went to work for an organization here in Spokane called "Software Spectrum". There I did tech support for Microsoft Games. It was interesting. I learned a whole lot of stuff about how computers work, how the games work, and how they fail to work. If you have an ATI Rage video card in your computer do yourself a favor. Take it out of your machine and set it on fire immediately.

If you have a Yamaha Sound Card, my recommendation is the same.

If you have AOL, please go and set Steve Case on fire. AOL is *EEEEEVVVIIIILLLL*!!

While this job was interesting, challenging and enhanced me in very real personal ways, one thing it did also was to utterly murder me in regards to anything personal or non-work related. For the last 4 months I have barely written anything. Updating my web page has been out of the question.

However, recently my assignment as Software Spectrum came to an end, along with any actual personal ownership of money. So now I can be properly focused on updating my web page.

This one will be a light once over. I have some serious upgrades in mind, including a page detailing the characters of ST-OM, Bendross and Vista City. However the Formatting of this and the proper lay out are an interesting challenge. You might call this a work in Progress.

Part of what inspired this new characters profile page was a project of getting my characters' portraits done by an artist named Richard Spake, He's good, his rates are reasonable and his work is distinctive.

I hope to eventually have all the major characters of ST-OM, Vista City and Bendross done. But this will take a while.

I am whomping up character profile sheets of the characters and ships, (And maybe the groups and places) I am doing this anyway to keep limbered in writing and for posting to the Trekcreative e-mail list.

Until then here is a preview -

Richard Spake's Portraits of -

Li'ira

Varupuchu

Flagg

Spaat

If you like them, then Please E-mail Richard Spake and tell him so. Like all creative types I am sure appreciative comments can make it all seem worth while some times.

You can also see more of Richard's work at His web site -

Link to Richard Spake's Website

This one is also a work in progress since Richard is fist fighting with his own system for his own reason.

... is it just me or is every computer in all creation in the midst of some failure, small or large? Probably just a matter of perspective I suppose.

I'll also be adding a pile of links to my links page, including some of the coolest on line comics to ever grace the web, and a couple of sites that have been indispensable to me while working tech support. Immensely Handy.

I'll see you next time and I hope it won't be six months

23-August-2000

Here's the latest update to my web site. I have posted the rest of the Bendross stories, and added a navigation bar to the bottom of the central pages.

I have also decided to add a "What's New?" Page so I can tell you what's new and different here as well as engaging in rants, diatribes, opinionating and other stuff that you may be interested in.

I have a lot of political opinions that if I express them will brand me an instant radical. (Just Add Outrage-)

I am having trouble convincing myself that the world needs another cranky Libertarian on the net.

If you like that kind of stuff go see

L. Neil Smith's Web page

He's a lot better at it than I am.

Any hoo, I am done pontificating until next time Let me know if you enjoy my web page or if you really don't and why. Or feel free to send some commentary of your own.
