Node C -50 Duck Golarion
Duck Golarion
This is the Pathfinder book Golarion, but all of the Humans and humanoids have been replaced by Humanoid Ducks and variants. Duck-Humans, Duck-Elves,Duck-Dwarves and so on.
The duck elves (Think Swan People) are ancient and were around for the Mellor war and the aftermath. But they keep their own council. They are amused at the Ducks of Duckburg, viewing them with amused affection. But they view the crosslink error of the Fringe path with some concern.
(This assumes post contact with Duckberg, Absent that - the Swanfolk have their Fringeworthy and know a high level magic spell that renders anyone temporarily fringworthy - 1/100 times the spell is used the Fringepath rolls its metaphorical eyes and says "okay, if you insist" and the effect becomes permanent. )
The Swanfolk mind their business and work behind the scenes to keep Duck Golarion from falling to evil forces and dark gods.

11:00 - Golarion Alt Evolutionary - Orcs are highly advanced culture, think an Orc evolved 66 to 70% towards being an elf. Ancient Orcs killed off all competing species. These are real orcs, not the Duck Orcs found elsewhere.

This gate opens into the ruins of the Swan Folk city at Ladara. Here, an Evil Overlord Duck has raised up the most powerful army, and has run rampage over Golarion trying to rule it all with an Iron fist. Imagine Duck Darth Vader.
An Epic level dark Paladin, with followers also at or near epic level all following some dark God have nearly cunched down control, except for plucky bands of rebels, who resist from difficult terrain.

02:00 - Gathering World - Uninhabited Golarion with metal trees
This is Duck Golarion with all the same critters and geography, but no sentient people arose here.
The one difference is that there are Terhmelern metal trees. These are trees, of a peculiar sort, their appearance is odd and distinctintive.
What makes them "Metal Trees" is that their root systems grow and grow and absorb metals out of the soil. over years and years the metals they find and fix become veins through out the tree. After thousands of years a forest of these trees can be harvested and yield a lot of useful metals. This is Terhmelern mining technology,
These trees don't taste good to creatures that normally eat trees. the metal content renders them toxic and unpleasant to taste.

This is another Golarion where sentiments never happened. Someone tested a bio-weapon here.
Pirana keets - I have mentioned these guys elsewhere. Parakeets. But carnivorous. They have extremely sharp little beaks, powerful bites for their size and they love the smells of blood. If they decide you're food, you get a swarm attack.
Piranakeets have an aggressive and angry mentality. They're little assholes.
This flavor of Piranakeets have a toxin. it turns blood into a form of resin. It takes a couple of hours for this work. But creature affected by this who don't make fort saves die from it and leave resin outlines of their circulatory systems.
It was hoped that these things could help against the Mellor, but these can't be targeted specifically enough.
I haven't decided how the Pirana-keet venom affects Mellor physiology

Imagine Megafauna era Earth with Wooly mammoths and Saber Toothed Tigers.
This is Golarion in that phase, about 2 million years before the main one.
So imagine what an FRPG world looks like if you roll the clock back 2 million years.
Has proto-dragons - The Dragon equivalent of Australopithecus.

Another Golarion where people never cropped up.
Sci Fi robots and machines took natural materials and rendered them down for magical energy and then stored the energy in Crystals.
This is a reference to GURPS 3rd ed. There you didn't have "Spell slots" but a budget of magical energy points. Spell level matched up difficulty, effect size and energy cost.
One thing a wizard can do in the GURPS system is store magical energy in magic items - gems which are magical energy batteries. Allows the caster a reservoir of spell energy points.
Now if the original caster had a qualified success, these magical energy batteries developed "quirks" - created quirks for these batteries was quite a thing back in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

During the mellor war, some evil force discovered this place and destroyed all the robots and processing equipment,
The Gems left lying about are damaged, or only partly workable, having failed QC or been altered during the attack.
The Swan Folk have picked over the remains of this and have taken a few of the more harmless power stnes to give to adventurers, mainly for humor purposes.

Golarion but the Orcs are long lived, intelligent and scholarly. They use human troops to keep the peace, but consider humans too short lived, flighty and aggressive to be truly "Civilized"
These guys have met the Swan folks and are investigating.
being intelligent they are willing to be friendly, trade and treat with others, especially if it brings them fringepath contacts.
They are intent on controlling power and wealth on their own world.
