Profile New Galis Port*

PCs might go there if they are undercover in the Klingon Empire or if their adventurous business takes them inside the Klingon Empire

This is a space station built into the body of an ancient space station, probably from the Ur-Jubextor.

There is a new Klingon colony in the same system, but they want little to do with the spacers coming and going. They'll be hospitable, and sell rooms and food to visitors but otherwise will not really engage. This colony is a place for displaced Klingons to go to get a fresh start.

The station is near an asteroid belt and its basis is mining and ore refining, but grew to encompass other areas, mainly trade.

If you have a hold of something and no idea who might want it, head to New Galis Port. You may not get the price you want but you can sell almost anything there.

The Station is under the control of House Ogalak, there is a contingent of House Ogalak soldiers and guard ships to keep order, but anyone can come and go.

Galis, the Ferengi who runs the place does not care who comes from where so long as they pay the docking fees and do not cause trouble on the station. He also funds mercenaries as peacekeepers on the station. But his license to operate comes from House Ogalak and so his guys will back up the House Ogalak Soldiers, and never resist them.

The station is a hub of espionage. Data is for sale there, like everything else is. Everyone who's anyone has someone on the station.

The House Ogalak and Galis Mercenaries are known to take bribes to let shady people come and go.

The default idea on Galis station is that cargo is legit until proven otherwise. So if you can file off serial numbers or claim to have bought a cargo elsewhere, you can sell it at Galis port, although bribes will eat into your profit margin.

The station now has fairly robust support and maintenance capacity for ships both civilian and military, so any ship up to heavy battlecruisers could dock and get resupplied and repaired at New Galis Station. House Ogalak and allied New Klingon houses get a discount but Galis and his crew will service anyone's ships. They're there for the latinum!

Bozok's Annex - These are asteroids orbiting an ice giant far away from the system where the new Galis Station operates.

They are dark and cold and if you manage your ship properly (Going very slow and keeping all systems at low power) you can come and go without being seen. The Ice Giant itself provides a lot of cover.

There are 13 asteroids in the complex. They open up to reveal docks. Usually, it's one ship per dock. The outer hulls of the docks are scan shielded, Unless a starship got close and deliberately scanned, from a distance, the dock read as normal asteroids.

Once inside a ship can unload cargo, get resupplied and repaired.

There are supplied via older cargo ships. Although their old drives are hopelessly slow in a modern market, they're fine for cross the short space between Bozoks Annex and New Galis Station.

There are also old, quiet shuttles that go between Asteroids.

One asteroid holds a clinic where Klingons and others can get new faces and new biometrics... for a fee.

It is run by Kobak, a Klingon Orion Hybrid, and his crew. They are businesslike and ruthless. Anyone can come in and dock, but play nice or they'll kill you. Nosy questions are answered with silence or transparent lies.

Several underworld factions know Kobak and company and do business with them, but no one knows which faction he looks to, a situation Kobak prefers.

If Pirates and smugglers are clean they can ride the old freighters into New Galis station to take advantage of the facilities there. If a pirate is known and wanted, he'd better have a lot of latinum for bribes or for a new face surgery.

Meta - the Station is a project of house Ogalak for information gathering. No pirate will be taken captive at New Galis Station unless he is so blazingly hot no one can ignore it. Even sworn enemies of House Ogalak are left alone there unless they make a problem of themselves.

The idea is to gather information and data.

The Colony world is not part of the setup, and this is why they greet visitors with a jaundiced eye. They really want no part of any problem.

Among the underworld, New Galis Station and Bozok's Annex are gaining a reputation, but this is slow going. Ogalak and Galis knew it would be

The plethora of spies both official and freelance was a surprise, but Galis does his best to try and gather what he can from them.

The point of the Station is not to catch bad guys but to be a reasonably safe place where bad guys can go. Then they'll be watched, cataloged, and observed.

Currently, no seriously bad people will go there, but they'll send intermediaries. So there's a lot of second bananas and minions doing deals with each other on Galis station.

It's also filled with traders of various races, trying to turn the free flow of everything into a fortune. The knowledge that anything and everything might be available at New Galis Station is drawing people who want to trade.

Every so often Imperial troops and ships will come through for an enforcement pass. Almost always, warning will pass among the population of the station first, so everyone can clear their decks and hide evidence of wrongdoing before the law and order types show up.

Galis' Engineering staff is mostly Ferengi, but anyone will be hired if they have the chops

Meta - Galis has a core crew who are experts are data intrusion and security systems, and how to bypass them. If they can identify a possible data theft job that won't implicate Galis and his station, they are given a green light. But mostly their job is to spy on the station, its people, and visitors.

Freelance spies and hackers can always make a little bit of latinum by meeting with a handful of mysterious people and discussing tradecraft with them. The more the home team learns the more the reward.

Knowing that a variety of strange people will come through, occasionally talent hunters will set up looking for freelancers to do specific jobs.

There is some stuff I assume you know in this write up, described here

Klingon Factions:
"Real Klingon" the Real Klingon faction asserts that only Klingons are fully people, that Klingons should rule over all others.

"New Klingon" New Klingons assert that non-Klingons are actually people and can be friends and even comrades and occasionally equals of Klingons. They assert that Klingon Warriors are for defending civilians and friends from aggression and that this all works better in combination with other folks doing other things too.

Real Klingons and New Klingons consider this difference easily worth making war and murdering each other over. Friends of New-Klingon-aligned people might find themselves the targets of Real-Klingon-aligned individuals and factions.

House Ogalak
One of the Largest New Klingon aligned major houses, after House Kahless and House Martok. Ogalak, on the surface, presents as the noblest of nobles and the truest of true warrior Klingons.

He has a dark side, where he runs extensive intelligence and espionage operations, and funds dozens of deniable mercenary bands to monkey wrench his Real Klingon enemies and stop their schemes.
