General Gannet - An experienced old general in the rebellion. Means he's good at managing his resources, knowing precisely what he has, when, hitting them where they ain't and getting away before the overwhelming force arrives.

When Gannet was Major and then Colonel Gannet, he ran special forces groups - he'd make sure they had gear and transport, working with intel he'd find places for his special ops teams to raid, get them there and out.

Now General Gannet runs logistics and support for several sectors of outmanned and outgunned Republic peacekeepers.

Zed: "Here is the ship I have been given." (Sends specs and report on the condition of the ship)

How would the New Republic work out having an ally who showed up with a ship?


My thought is he gets assigned a crew and runs around doing things for them.

BUT - in the Mandalorian series - set about 5 years after the Battle of Endor, we see the New Republic actively being sabotaged - hidden partisans of the Empire within the ranks of the New Republic are forcing a "Work to the rule" problem. So the New Republic is already being strangled by it's own red tape.

This leaves outposts on the edges of the thing struggling with too many calls and not enough ships and people.

So Zed might find a role as a mercenary good guy in the ship. It's a pattern he grew up with. His first Master Aleph Null was part of a mercenary fighter suadron that flew off mercenary ships and from planets that hired them for security

So he'd reach for that pattern.

Getting enough of the right kind of people to help run the thing would be a the challenge

At the end of "Skeleton Crew" A Corvette and a flight of X-Wings turn up and rescue everyone from the Pirates who have been menacing them. (The PC victory there was that they delayed anHow many d obfustaced the Pirates long enough for help to arrive)

So that sort of ship does do patrol work for the New Republic.

It's 5 years after the Battle Of Endor - the New Republic is working on getting it's shit together. The Galaxy is more chaotic and crime ridden than before - more fertile ground for adventures.

There are places where law and order carry the day. We've seen a couple of cases where frontier adventuring types venture into more civilized spaces.
