Okay - back in the day, Obama made a deal with Iran

US backs off sanctions, returns impounded propergty

Iran stops enriching Uranium (They buy enriched uranium for medical and science uses from France)

Conservatives flipped and flew, and screamed and cried. They described a pallet of cash being given to Iran. That was Irans money for oil, impounded in 1979

So Trump walked into office in his first term and just threw the old deal out the window. Obama did it, and that made it suck. (Black people can't make deals!)

So Iran said, "We have confirmed the United States are bastards who don't keep their word" and resumed enriching uranium.

Literally everyone in the region lives in fear of an Iranian bomb. I can totally tell why they want one.

Biden tried to get a deal working and Iran fucked him off "What's our guarantee that another president won't undo on a whim?"

So Trump comes in and threatens strikes on Iran

He moves bombers around then it "leaked" - a threat

This is stupid. The US has a massive tech advantage. We could sweep the Iranian navy and air force from the skies. And then what? Iran is 3 times the size of Iraq, and has two separate mountain ranges. The population views us as "The Great Satan"

So a ground war is simply out of the question, although stupid people may not realize this.

Master negotiators.


Trump may get a deal slightly worse than the one he originally threw out.

Which would be a remarkable win for him.

But I doubt Trump's ability to actually accept a diplomatic win.
