Shandis: "Which is why Leomans as a people avoid Kings. They like getting other people killed for their benefit. I fought one war, that was one war too many."

Diter: "Agreed. I was busy cleaning up the people and situations it spit out. I should be dead."
Arnold buys them one of what they're drinking "To absent friends and better times."

Meanwhile Erin has joined the Orion table and is quietly drinking with them as no one says anything.

Welcome to "We don't talk unnecessarily" sucking in this sort of environment.

Ah... I remember

Shoma says to Erin, "Nice knives."

Erin says "They should be. I paid enough for them." She takes one and shows it to Shoma.

This ends up with knife throwing at a target.

Shoma isn't as good at it as Erin is but enjoys the challenge.

Erin is faintly weirded out by knife throwing as a sport and a social activity. Usually with her it's grim revenge - or fighting monsters.

Funny, I have three throwing knives on order. The thing about it is it is not intuitive. If you are going to be effective at it you must practice. True of any target sport really, from spitting to artillery.

Arnold, ruefully: "Nope. I've been told it's not a curse, but it feels like one."
