Tommie: "Patriarch, something between king and father councilor. It mainly involves settling disputes."
Zed: "You're not allowed to take vacations? You don't have a second in Command or a staff?"

Tommie: Slight laugh. "Oh yes much staff. Other than long plays Elves love complicated committees and such. The saying among the non-Elves is 'Ask not the Elves for advice, for they will say both yes, and no.' We have own that. One of the tools if fair judgement is after each side of a dispute states their case, we reset and each side has to state their opponents case. Often we have an agreement before the process ends."

Unless there is cause to move quickly, we don't. There is always time to smell to roses, or admire the view if you will."

Are you aware that Tommie just contradicted himself?

he said he couldn't get away

and above he says he has all the staff he needs to leave and have a vacation

It's hard for mew to find a handle for Zed to talk to Tommie. Their experiences are so diofferent

Tommie was leaving in any case. It is hard to get away ,and he does have a full staff, and multi-presence. So no contradiction.
