Office of the Provost (Oz police force)

Number of Members:  300, mostly in Emerald City
Nature of Members:  Primarily Kronin refugees from the Acceptian Empire.  There are a handful of natives and a couple of Ansisi.  There are three RIs on the force and they control a platoon of light mecha each.  They see little use and everyone likes it like that.  The force accepts only telepaths.
Organization:  Para-Military.  The rank structure is borrowed from the Kronin internal system and lightened slightly.  All officers are considered "Provosts".  The ranks from bottom to top are.  Constable, Serg, Luft, Kepp, and Kern.  With as few Provosts as Oz has the Kern is the only one.  Rank then would be referred to as "Provost Constable" for example.
    The Office of the Provost makes no distinction between uniformed officers and detectives.  All Provosts do all police work.
Game Role:  Good guy cops.
World Role:  Deal with the chaos caused by Outsiders on Ane worlds.
Relative Influence:  Major on Oz, nil elsewhere.
Public or Secret?:  Public
Publicly Stated Goal: Keep the Peace on Oz
Relative Wealth:  They have full access two the Ane treasury to use as needed.  Other police forces are officially green.
Group advantages:  Telepaths are hard people to lie to.  Telepathy also aids in dealing with the native population.  Kronin training methods also make for efficient officers.
Special Abilities:  Telepaths, police powers.
Group disadvantages:  Provosts are uniformed and obvious.  The are under orders and oaths to obey the laws themselves.  Deviance from those laws is highly frowned on.
Special disadvantages:  Ane law is simple and highly direct.  There is little you can do to get arrested.
Those who favor them:  People that like peace and quiet.
Those opposed to them:  People causing problems.  Ozians that see their presence as a symbol that quiet isn't assured anymore.
Area of Operation:  The Planet Oz.  A Provost has jurisdiction on any Ane world.
Headquarters Location:  The Emerald Palace, Emerald City, Oz.
Public Face:  Silent efficient, fair keepers of the peace.
Notable Members:  None as of yet.
History of the Organization:  Until the Discovery opened the planet back up Oz had no need for a police force.  However with interstellar trade opened and traffic to and from the planet it was soon obvious that some manner of police would be required.  The Exiled Kronin Marines from the Acceptian Seeker Horizon agreed to form the core of the new service.
