Relative Wealth: Compared to an individual large, they own land, factories and commercial enterprises. Compared to a Planet, tiny.
Group advantages: Money, political influence. Contact with the big wigs of Standish.
Special Abilities: Members of the St. John Smythe family know the Queen of Standish.
Group disadvantages: Snotty. Some members are borderline racist. Deeply class conscious.
Special disadvantages: Standish has a lot term rivalry against the Orions. The orions are not fond of Standish big wigs.

Notable Members:
Horatio St. John-Smythe - a Starship Captain of the 2260s.
Aunt Mabel St. John-Smythe - took over as matriarch of the St. John-Smythe family after the death of Horatio's parents. Also acted as Amber's foster parent in the 2270s, a tense relationship.
Amber St. John-Smythe - Horatio's Daughter, and a Starship Captain of the 2290s
Aaron St. John Smythe - A Lt Commander in the Royal Standish Space Navy, on Exchange Duty with Starfleet.
History of the Organization:
When Standish was founded - among the leaders of the new colony were the St. John-Smythe family. As the culture of Standish has grown wealthy and powerful, so has the St. John-Smythe Family.

These people were originally named, by Dennnis the Hornblowers. I added Amber as a gimmick NPC. ST-OM the Ezekiel
Later, Amber became my own PC, and starred in an unpublished fragment. She's installed in the History of Jay-Trek as the last Captain of the USS Ezekiel, and the first Captain of the USS Harrier.
Aaron was created by Dennis for the USS Cincinnatus game, which then collapsed. He appears in ST-OM Rondo in Green. - about then the Hornblowers were retconned into the St. John-Smythes
