Availability: Cameos - Rhondans are Available

Created By: Jay P. Hailey, Dennnis Washburn

Full name: Hup-Nast-Zam-Zam

Species: Rhondan

Planet: Rhonda's World

Birthplace: The Purple Oceans of Rhonda's World

Age: Unclear. Rhondans don't measure time the way humans do, but over 60 earth years.

Sex: Male (We think. That's what his vocoder sounds like)

Height: usually approximately 5 feet. At full stretch he can reach to ten
feet.

Weight: about 200 lbs.

Build: a Ropy Mass of tentacles, Thicker towards the center, perhaps a central body.

Description:

Like all Rhondans Hup-Nast-Zam-Zam communicates via a complex system of smells, pheromones, skin color changes and sounds. He carries a Vocorder which translates his expressions to standard language, although this isn't always as clear as might be desired. This is included in his communication badge.

Hup-Nast-Zam-Zam appears to be a ropy mass of tentacles, a cross between a ball of snakes and an Octopus on steroids. His skin feels like warm, soft linoleum.

Rhondans always smell nice and their smell is a reflection of their emotional state. A Rhondan who is happy to see you will smell of strawberries ands cream. Laughing is a straight strawberry. Hup-Nast-Zam-Zam when happy is colored lavender with deeper purple splotches. A Belly laugh will erase the purple splotches and replace them with Purple waves rolling down his limbs to the tips.

Rhondans joined the Federation as soon as they could. Humans and Humanoids are fascinating creatures to the Rhodans who are seen off world. If you meet a Rhondan it's generally a safe assumption that he is glad to see you and in very interested in what you have to think about things.

Hup-Nast-Zam-Zam was a research Doctor on Rhonda's World, but eventually left to go to Starfleet Medical. He finished Starfleet medical training, and then has done an eight year internship at Starfleet medical. Recently he decided to take a new assignment which would allow him to meet more different people.

Skin coloring:

Variable. Defaults to Lavender with purple splotches. When Angry or frightened, Rhondan's skin tones become very bright and take on a high contrast color scheme, black with alternating red and yellow stripes for instance.

Rhondan skin tones are usually more relaxed and easier on the eyes

Eyes (color, shape):

Black, small, near the central body.

Hair (color, style, length):

None

Rank:

Lieutenant

Position:

Medical officer, USS Cincinnatus

Campaign role: Back up Doctor, Comedy relief and local color.

Distinguishing Marks (scars, etc.):

Other than being a Rhondan, none.

Appearance(when on duty):

Lavender with Purple splotches. On one of his major trunk legs near his central body, Hup-Nast-Zam-Zam wears a black nylon arm band with a medical blue stripe, his rank pips, his comm-badge which also functions as his vocoder.

Appearance(when on personal time, clothing style, etc):

Extremely variable.

Routine Activities:

Moving about his place of duty, watching people or talking to them asking them questions about who they are.

Skills/Training/Professional Skills:

Hup-Nast-Zam-Zam is a skilled medical doctor for Rhondans, one of their best. He is also a decent doctor for humans, with experience in long term physical therapy and treatment. He has training and light experience in trauma and emergency room medicine.

Personality:

Weird, an odd point of view but friendly and very supportive.

Ambitions and Goals:

Unknown.

Psychological Quirks and Problems:

Being Non-Human Hup-Nast-Zam-Zam occasionally has very odd priorities and points of view on things other people consider mundane. Hup-Nast-Zam-Zam occasionally has problems articulating what he means, since the human and Rhondan frame of reference is so different.

Physical Problems:

Because of his boneless and flexible body construction, Hup-Nast-Zam-Zam lacks badly in raw strength and lifting capacity. He must ask for help or use mechanical aids to move human patients on stretchers.

Special Abilities:

Hup-Nast-Zam-Zam's boneless and flexible body structure allows him to fit through areas and openings that would trap even the most limber of humans. For the same reason, Hup-Nast-Zam-Zam is difficult to engage in hand-to-hand combat. He can flex away. He can also wrap himself around an opponent and ride them. He can't trap them unless he gets a muscle loop well placed but he has no problem making and keeping physical contact with the most out of control patient.

Hup-Nast-Zam-Zam has a superb bedside manner, and with a little more training could be a counselor. This is due to the Rhondan's fascination with the way other species think.

Weaknesses:

Hup-Nast-Zam-Zam can be trapped in small places. He requires more water than human of the same size and wouldn't last long in a desert.
