This is the adventure I was attempting to run for the USS Argo Play-by-E-mail game -

I had run it once already for the USS ShiKahr with two face-to-face players.

Yes, this completely ripped off from the 1980's TV series V- with the Veglar playing the "Visitors" and the Kamari playing Earth

This is a way to run Trek Characters into the situation and have them answer some questions -

Is it a prime directive issue when a primitive world is invaded by a warp drive culture?

Is it appropriate to help the victims fight off the invaders? What else is it possible to do?

I don't have any NPCs here for this one - If you feel it necessary to have them you are invited to create them. Don't be shy about posting thm here... :) :)

Hmm I might make up at least three of each -

Veglar City-Ship commanders, from stern, competent administrators to fightened, incompetent martinets.

Veglar ground force commanders

Kamari resistance groups, with three specific people, each, CO, XO, and Other

Kamari Vichy authorities, these range from greedy profiteers to people fearful that the Veglar will bomb them out of existence

Three Veglar Squads of soldiers, occupation, peacekeeping and anti-resistance soldiers with three NPCs each 1St Segreant, Corporal and Other. these people will range from bored slackers, to gung ho loons, to cynical "old soldier" types to psychos who take it out on their victims to honorable people, trying to fullfill their mission.

The start of this each time has been with a ship on deep space patrol happening across a city ship trundling from Veglar to Kamari

The first group went to Kamari where they proceeded to contact the Veglarans occupying Kamari - the Veglar response is generally the same in each occasion, to approach and bully and/or attack. To the Veglar, the uncertainty of their status in regards to the new comers is uncomfortable, and the possiblity of being of lesser status is terrifying to them.

After fending off the Veglari attack the PCs ship made contact with the Kamari, using a stealth shuttle they were able to assemble from old designs and stripping modern dshuttle of it's equipment.

the stealth shuttle they built was slow and unarmed but they were careful to fly slow and avoid the worst of the Veglar sensor nets and so this worked (It won't if you give the Veglar technology past the beginning of their Warp Age.) using this they were able to contact a resistance base in the icy polar region and made common cause with the Kamari resistence.

From there it was a pretty straightforward slugfest, with the Federation ship defeating the several City ships in smaller groups.

The Veglar were over confident and so committed their force piecemeal which lead to the ShiKahr chopping them up.

They had to use their stealth shuttle once more to smuggle technology down to Kamari to defeat an attempt by one Veglar City-Ship to hold a city hostage to their fusion missiles.

This worked and in the end , the SHiKahr went to Veglar and negotiated a Federation attempt to help the Veglari recover their planet in exchange for Veglar releasing Kamari.

In the Second Game, the USS Argo back tracked the City ship to Veglar and scanned the system, drawing the attention of the Veglar. A ship who's sensors so grossly over powered their own caused the Veglari high command to immediately fear they'd been discovered by an advanced species (True) and that this Advanced Species would proceed to kill and dominate them (Because that's what the Veglar would do).

A fleet of three city ships turned out and a flight of attack shuttles came after the Argo.

The crew of the Argo requested communications and the Veglari Admiral used to to position for his first salvo (By then he'd talked himself into capturing the advanced aliens and using their advanved technology to TAKE OVER THE WORLD.)

At this point the second game rolled over and died.

Plainly the trick for a starship crew will be to disvoer the correct people to talk to to reveal that the Federation can, if asked, help the Veglari pull their world back from the brink of destruction.

This adventure can also be an opportunity for junior crew people to slip into Kamar and have some action and intrigue moving across occupied Kamari to locate the leaders of the Anti-Veglar resistance.
